Fun Day In Canada.

My eyes slowly opened as the warm breeze tickled my neck.  I stretched my arms and yawned as loud as a lion roaring. Carefully, I walked down the stairs holding on to the brown wooden railing. As i got to the breakfast table Owen, Dad, Grandpa and Grandma were already awake. I looked around for something to eat and spied some toast. Grabbing some honey, I spread the sticky goodness onto the crispy toast. I took one enormous bite, ‘crunch, crunch’ went my mouth. I had just finished my toast and licked my fingers when we heard a loud truck pull up. It was my cousins, Jake, Max, Cooper, Jonas, and Clare. They marched into the house saying “hey kiwi boys”, then “where’s Jackson and your mum?” I say “sleeping”.  I quickly race up the stairs and say to Jackson “the whole whanau is here”, then yell, “Mum, our cousins are here.” Jackson and Mum walk down the stairs and hug them all. Then my cousins say “who is up for a good game of soccer?”. We grab the soccer ball and race outside.

We quickly pick the teams.  They were Jackson, Cooper, Jake and I  VS Owen, Max, Jonas and Clare. The whistle had blown, the game had started.  I passed to Jake. Jake tried to pass the ball to Cooper but it was intercepted by Max. Max ran hard and had a kick going as fast as lightning and in the net it went. 10 sec to go the scores were 4 - 20. We were losing hard, but had one last trick up our sleeves. Jackson lobbed the ball high into the sky, up to Jake, he passed the ball to Cooper, Cooper glides the ball over Jonas’  head and a goal is scored.

It was now 4 pm when my grandpa says “lets have a fire”. So we grab a log of wood and a saw, putting it all  on the golf car. Driving over the bumpy white track as we get to the Cabin. We see some white fish pond and think that's peculiar.  Grandpa cuts the brown chunk of wood like a cake, he tells us that  he got the idea from some relatives in  Holland.

3 Hours later,  Owen, Jackson, Dad and I are on one golf cart and on the other are Mum, Grandpa and Grandma, marshmallows and a bottle of liquid on the other. We park the golf carts and all sit around the cut log of wood. Then Grandpa pours the bottle of  a blue glowing flammable liquid onto the wood.  We watch as he lights it on fire. As I look up in the air all I see is smoke. The wind was biting my back but the glowing fire was warming me up. Mum said “look between the cracks it looks super cool” so I do and it looks out of this world. As the fire gets bigger I get hot like an oven,  so I decide to roast some marshmallows. I put the marshmallow on my long stick and see it get golden brown so then i take it out and have a bite it was nice, warm and gooey. It was getting to be late so we head back home to have a sleep.

(2 Months Later) My mum is on pinterest looking at things when she finds the fire and sees that it is called a Swedish Flame.
